Ashok Mahindru Showcases His fevourite documentaries by Vedic Kanya school students


Amongst many other philanthropic activities Ashok Mahindru is also involved with Vedic Kanya High School founded by his father, Late Mr. Y. P. Mahindru.

Indian American Foundation has helped the students of the school to come across documentary making. The management of the school under guidance of Ashok Mahindru encourages such students by allowing them to create their own stories and converting them into a documentary. From the beginning till the end, the concept is handled by the student themselves. Under the leadership of Mr. Ashok Mahindru the school is not behind in using new technologies in education. Dell has gifted the school Smart Class's software and provided teacher training for the same.

Ashok Mahindru loves this documentary Who Cares which focuses on the Chalta Hai attitude of people in India. This attitude is the key for our lack of ability to bring change in society says Ashok Mahindru.

Ashok Mahindru introduces the lady behind the success of Vedic Kanya High School - Mrs. Sushila Kapoor

Headmistress Mrs. Sushila Kapoor leads teachers and students of Vedic Kanya High School in Gurgaon Carnival raising awareness in eye donation answering the call of Mr. Ashok Mahindru


Ashok Mahindru brought Mrs. Sushila Kapoor, M.A., B. Ed., an educationist with vast knowledge and experience in development of education and  implementation of ancient systems in our educational stream.  On taking over the charge as Headmistress of Vedic Kanya High School, Gurgaon in 2006, in addition to Mahindru Charitable Trust under Mr. Ashok Mahindru, Mrs. Kapoor not only developed basic infrastructure in school like erecting new class rooms and developing an ultra-modern Computer Lab, she also engaged worldwide NGOs like American India Foundation Trust for the overall qualitative development of the education in the school.

Ashok Mahindru specially highlights among one of key achievement the production of the national level documentary film “HOMEWOK” in 2008 by the students of Vedic Kanya High School under her and Mr. Ashok Mahindru. The film showcases the plight of girl students from underprivileged class who lack in basic facilities at their houses as on date. The film which took about three months to complete, follows a day in the life of their junior schoolmate Meena, 11 a maid’s daughter, and her struggle to finish her homework while balancing her household responsibilities.

Ashok Mahindru commends Mrs. Sushila Kapoor for taking an active part in the development and introduction of ancient system of Education (Vedic) through different processions and workshops organized under the flagship of Vedic Vidya Pracharani Sabha and Arya Kendriya Sabha, Gurgaon. 

In the year 2011, Mrs. Sushila Kapoor made everyone at Vedic Kanya High School including Ashok Mahindru proud when the school team under her received state level award in Cultural Programmes from Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana. She has led the school participation on Golden Jubilee Celebration of the Republic Day of India a high point for the school marks Ashok Mahindru.  Akhil Bhartiya Sahitya Parishad has also appreciated the performance of the school and presented mementos.

Mrs. Kapoor has headed the Mathematic Wing of the school for more than 18 years and Mr. Ashok Mahindru acknowledged for her commendable performance.  Her hard work got her Prashasti Patra by Board of School Education, Haryana for Vedic Kanya High School being third at State Level during 1992. Ashok Mahindru underlines  the fact that these awards and recognition for her and the school by not only Board level but also from other different authorities  are testament to her credentials as an educator since starting from 1991 till date.

Ashok Mahindru and Vedic Kanya School supports the One Billion Rising campaign to end violence against Women this Valentine's Day



Ashok Mahindru has guided Vedic Kanya Highschool teachers and students to join the global campaign of One Billion Rising on Valentine's Day.  One Billion Rising is bringing together women and men from all walks of life from over 200 countries including India on Valentine's Day (14th February) to safeguard the rights of women all over. This a really novel way to celebrate the day of love Ashok Mahindru believes. 

Ashok Mahindru has taken a stern view on crime against view terming it against our culture in his various articles and speeches. Ashok Mahindru commends the efforts of One Billion Rising campaign and its effort to bring people together through innovative ways like dancing, flash mobs, music, theatrical events etc. to end this violence against women who are the nurturer of humankind. The website of the campaign has short films, music videos to support the cause. 



                                       

Ashok Mahindru along with students and teachers of Vedic Kanya Highschool, a school to impart education to  girls underprivileged families joined people from all across the globe, including India have registered their names in the official website. The school children will be joining various programmes being organised in the city on the Valentine's Day to show their support to the cause.
